    Cleanroom Welding

High-purity TIG welding performed inside ISO-classified cleanrooms — for pharmaceutical, biotech, medical-device and semiconductor facilities that cannot afford to break the envelope.

    Welding That Respects the Envelope

A cleanroom is an environmental contract. The wrong welding crew can invalidate that contract in an afternoon — particulate from grinding, hydrocarbons from cutting fluids, scorched gloves on a HEPA filter. Our cleanroom welding crews are trained to work inside ISO 5–8 spaces without breaking classification.

We perform high-purity orbital-quality manual TIG welds on stainless process piping, WFI loops, clean steam, USP gas distribution and bioreactor connections, fully purged and ASME BPE compliant.

    Cleanroom Welding Practices

    • Cleanroom gowning, garments and approved tools per your SOP
    • Tack-and-purge stations staged outside the envelope where possible
    • Low-particulate cutting; no in-room grinding or polishing
    • Full inert gas purge — no sugaring, no discoloration
    • Borescope inspection and weld log on every joint
    • Coordination with your QA, validation and EH&S teams

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can you actually weld inside a classified cleanroom?

Yes. We coordinate with the facility's contamination control plan, gown into the room, use HEPA-shrouded carts where required, and pull a particle count before and after the work. For ISO 7 and tighter rooms we usually fab outside and bring the spool in.

How do you keep particles down during hot work?

Low amperage, no grinding inside the classified space, sticky mats at the entry, and a portable HEPA unit running near the joint. Cleanup is wet-wipe with IPA, not compressed air.

What about orbital welds in cleanrooms?

We don't run orbital. All our work is manual TIG. For cleanroom utility tube where the spec calls for orbital, we'll tell you up front and recommend a contractor that runs it.

Can you provide a procedure and weld map for the validation package?

Yes. Welder ID, heat numbers, joint-by-joint map, purge logs, and borescope records. The validation team gets a packet that matches what's installed.

Do you handle high-purity gas and DI water lines?

Yes. Stainless tube for high-purity gas and DI loops is most of our cleanroom utility work. Argon purged, borescoped, and pressure tested before turnover.
